Bird Information Systems receives CMMI certification for superior technology solutions
BIS awarded CMMI Level 3 certification by Software Engineering Institute

New Delhi, January 19, 2009: Bird Information Systems Pvt Ltd (BIS), a leading technology provider of automated aviation, travel, Airline, Transport and entertainment related software solutions, today announced that it received CMMI Level 3 certification from the prestigious Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI) in the month of November 2008. Some of the products developed by BIS include AIRS (Airline Inventory and Reservation System), CIRS (Cinema Inventory and Reservation System), OLTP (Online Travel Portal), AAMS (Amadeus Agent Management system), CashX, CT (Corporate Travel) and RRS (Revenue Reconciliation System).

The Software Engineering Institute (SEI) certifies companies or individuals demonstrating proficiency in a specific set of skills, abilities and knowledge relative to a particular technology area. As part of the internationally renowned Carnegie Mellon University, SEI supports and certifies technical innovation across the world. The CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Level 3 certification denotes the third highest level of maturity of products and is provided after undertaking a rigorous appraisal procedure.

Each of the solutions’ provided by BIS have industry leading features for customers in their respective segments in travel and entertainment sectors. AIRS provides applications to enhance customer services in the field of inventory control, distribution and reservation with special focus on Low Cost Carriers (LCC); CIRS provides film tickets facilitation electronically; OLTP aims at providing the capability for online/offline reservation of various services such as airlines, cars, hotels and holidays in a single seamless integration; AAMS is a web based CRM application, used by Amadeus in the Indian subcontinent; ; CashX manages the back office activities including the accounting of tickets invoicing and all related transactions ; CT provides organizations with the capability to manage their internal travel requests using modules for corporate travelers, corporate controllers and administrators; RRS helps reconcile the revenue data received from various sources for credit card transaction, deposits, travel agent transactions and booking offices transactions
